Young Adults

young adulthood

There are so many life transitions that happen during young adulthood. Some come too quickly - some not quickly enough. Dr. Stephanie Smith can help you navigate this life stage with new, effective tools.

Launching into young adulthood isn’t always a smooth ride. Dr. Smith works with young adults, including college students, to manage this time of change. Sessions can be in person, or via telehealth as needed.

Common concerns with which Dr. Smith helps:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Addiction (marijuana, vaping, alcohol)
  • Questions of identity (gender, sexuality, professional)
  • Failure to launch (trouble working toward financial independence from parents and other adult responsibilities)
  • Relationship struggles (friendship and romantic relationships)
  • Neurodiversity/Autism Spectrum Disorder

Session are 45 minutes in length

Coordination of Care/Consultation:

One the things I provide for current patients is coordination of their mental health care between multiple providers or agencies. For example, this might include working with primary care providers or psychiatrists to optimize psychological treatment through medication and therapy. This might also include working with teachers, school administrators and other care providers to ensure the best use of IEP’s and 504 plans. I also work collaboratively with substance abuse/chemical dependency programs to help folks successfully achieve and maintain sobriety.
